We had a wonderful weekend at the Eckartsburg in July 2020. The honeymoon suite was the Oberhammer. Also, I have to say that I've rarely eaten at such a high standard - and I'm not easily impressed. If you only give the boss the chance to develop creatively, you can expect absolute top performance here. From the 600g Tomahawk steak to a 5-course menu that was entirely dedicated to the beef fillet - a meal of absolute superlatives. Thank you Thomas for this unforgettable weekend! After Corona gladly again!
You can eat very tasty here
After we, four adults, two children (5 & 10 years) had taken a seat in the interior, it took a good 20 minutes before we could place the order. When asked about a small portion of goulash with red cabbage we were told: “I have to ask!”, We did not get an answer! After more than an hour the food was served, the “big one” got a “small” portion which was not much smaller than a normal portion, and the price was accordingly, whereby the red cabbage was charged at 1.50 €! The spaghetti with tomato sauce for the "little one" was served after we all had our meal, in my opinion that is not possible! In terms of taste, everything was great, I had decided on roast lamb with croquettes and beans, unfortunately there was little sauce, of course you could have reordered, but I was concerned that I would get it soon! There was little sauce with the goulash! For a public holiday (October 3rd) the number of diners around 2 p.m. was very clear, but the kitchen and service did not seem to be able to keep up! Dear colleague, kitchen master Schütze, the ratings on Google range from great to “grotto bad”, what is your opinion on this? Please check your entries on the HP regarding the spelling or is it the intention that there is ketchup instead of ketchup, you could also write on the menu: "Spelling and grammatical errors were inserted with great effort and to the amusement of the readers!" As in many restaurants, I miss the statutory labeling requirement for additives and allergens on the menu! By the way, my daughter and her boyfriend were there for a “steak meal” some time ago and were extremely satisfied, this was also one of the reasons why we visited the “Burgschänke”! Whether we will stop there again remains questionable!
Nice location, but unfortunately very disappointing. Short and sweet.... Completely overwhelmed waiters, the waiting time for our food was 1 1/2 hours much too long and we didn't like it either. Sorry, but I don't recommend it.
Good little tasty menu. Not so crowded during the week. Nice courtyard
We were very surprised. Great castle and a friendly and cosmopolitan operator. Great food and a very pleasant conversation.
How this bar can survive is a mystery to me. We were there twice. Once in the last year, where we waited 90 minutes for 3 meals, although only 3 tables were occupied. The two service employees couldn't speak German at the time. Anyone can have a black day, so we gave the place another chance today. There was no "good day" from the staff, just a nod of the head. The lady's fingernails were unsanitary filthy and long. That doesn't work. We waited 45 minutes in vain for the drinks we ordered. And nobody wanted to know about a meal order. We went!!!!!! The restaurant has potential, but not with this operator!
Eating partly white top children's dishes very, very well arranged and expensive. 7.90 euros good ketchup was free
Super tasty and fresh. After a fun day in Eckartsberga, everyone can only recommend a stop at the Burgschänke. Gladly again 🍀🏰
The restaurant was well attended during our visit, but not fully occupied. There was only one waitress who was hopelessly overwhelmed. We had to wait about 1 hour for our food. Then there was also a children's meal missing. We were told that the lack of food is coming soon. After 20 minutes we asked again where the food was. The food ended up coming almost 30 minutes later! Everyone else was done long ago. I would not eat here again. @Owner: All food was ordered at the same time. The food was apparently forgotten. I stick to my statement above. 1: 30h waiting time for a (children's) meal is a no-go!
Underground. Hardly any guests but the service was overwhelmed. Waited forever and then the order came wrong. Don't stop here!
Food was very good. Service very friendly. We'll be back.
That's just great. The ambience is fantastic & you feel good. Climbing the tower with a wonderful view rounded it off. The food is delicious. As others have already said, not cheap, yes, but you can also get the finest quality dishes freshly prepared by the chef & you are not in the pub around the corner! It was worth it to me, I haven't eaten so well in a long time & will definitely come back & recommend it to others. It's also nice for the kids because a summer toboggan run is not far away.
When we visited, a few seats in the beer garden were occupied and the cook was alone. 1.5 h waiting time for 1 salad and 1 goulash - you could handle that even on your own. Cutlery has to be requested separately. It's a shame about the location.
For the second time we spent a great weekend on this medieval castle ruin. The rooms are tastefully furnished. The highlight was always the great menu that the "lord of the castle" conjured up for us. You can tell that he cooks with dedication, passion and skill. We have enjoyed our stay. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
Service quite good. Had lunch with 12 people. Food not recommended. And
Great food, nice destination, great viewpoint
Very nice little castle with a great restaurant. We found it to have spiced up the trip very much. Delicious food and nice people! Service and boss very friendly and courteous! Lovely again! It's not cheap, but the quality is right!
Very nice location with a great view. What stands out very negative, however, is that no (!) Prices from the outside are recognizable, so that one runs with respect to the bill in the absolute void. Due to previous pilgrim reports I was fortunate that absolute pharmacist prices are called here and my pilgrim brother and I have taken our own drinks. So only for the bulging wallet!
Simple, signposted access. Parking fee 1 Euro 50. Then 5 minutes walk to the castle. It is a small castle with beer garden, restaurant and a 2 euro to be climbed observation tower. We were very satisfied with the food.
Long wait and unfriendly stuff. Not worth the hike.
